International Baccalaureate Coordinator/Magnet Coach

Position:   International Baccalaureate Coordinator/Magnet Coach (Non-Union)
 Building Location:   Ypsilanti Community Middle School & Ypsilanti Community High
School Salary:   $65,000
 Funding Source:   Magnet School Assistant Program Grant - Funded through 2028. 
Reports To: Building Administrator and/or Designee

 Qualifications:
? Valid Michigan secondary teaching certificate
? Five (5) years of teaching experience with an Effective or Highly Effective Evaluation rating
? Master's Degree in Education, preferred
Position Description: The International Baccalaureate (IB) Coach will integrate the International Baccalaureate instructional methodologies and supplementary content across core subjects, non-core subjects, enrichment, extracurricular, and family learning experiences. The IB Coach will provide instructional expertise facilitating the implementation of the magnet school theme in coordination with the IB program.   

Position Responsibilities:
? Support the development of the magnet school theme and take an active role in investing and mobilizing teachers to achieve the collective goals of the magnet program.
? Model effective lessons across subjects to help teachers implement the International Baccalaureate program, Discovery Education, National Geographic Explorers Classroom, and project-based learning strategies in core and non-core subjects.  
? Provide direction and coordination for how the IB curriculum is adopted and implemented.
? Contribute to the development of systems and structures to implement the IB school theme.
? Attend all required IB and other magnet school-related trainings.
? Serve on Magnet School Advisory Board.
? Oversee components of the Academically Rigorous Choices (ARC) marketing and recruitment plan to ensure enrollment attains the proposed levels.
? Possess the willingness and capacity to hold ongoing instructional-specific conversations designed to focus conversations and efforts on improving student learning.
? Collaborate to create and execute clear, logical instructional plans that produce strong results in student learning.
? Collaborate with the building Instructional Coach to ensure alignment between the district’s instructional focus and magnet theme.
? Routinely observe instruction and provide effective non-evaluative feedback to teachers.
? Support a professional environment that is of mutual respect, teamwork, and accountability.
? Maintain good daily attendance and punctuality.
? Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the school.
 
Terms of Employment:  The contract, salary, and other employment conditions will be established by the Board of Education. Applicants who receive a conditional offer of employment for this position will be required to commit to leadership with a traditional and/or balanced calendar. Further, the applicant must agree to fully participate in all relevant training inclusive of or unique to the building assigned and the District.
 
Evaluation:  Performance of this job will be evaluated by the School Principal in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
