
Chemistry Technician
Nordetect is on a mission to improve the way chemicals are used in the food chain. We are a DeepTech company that produces Lab-on-a-chip devices and Software products for environmental and agricultural testing. Our products enable farm managers, greenhouse growers, and vertical farmers to reduce risk and ensure richer harvests by leveraging data that is easy to understand and implement.
In your role as a Lab Technician at Nordetect, you will work with our patented Lab-on-a-chip devices and data analysis software for fabrication, testing and optimization of optical chemical sensors. The ideal candidate for this role would be a student in the life sciences field of study with a desire to work in a lab-based environment.
Responsibilities:
- Meticulously following Device Dataset collection process by implementing SOPs
- Troubleshooting issues with analytical product performance
- Preparation of reagents and buffers
- Fabrication of paper-based chemosensors using formulation and coating processes
- Responsible for device calibrations and application development experiments
- Preparation of experimental reports with findings, recommendations, and conclusions.
- General housekeeping of the laboratories and inventory management
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree (or current student pursuing one) in chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmacy, and biochemistry or related fields, and/or related work experience
- A strong analytical instrumentation background or interest
- An understanding of formulation and fabrication of chemical sensors is a plus
- Experience with paper-based sensing technologies is a plus
- Good problem-solving and quantitative skills
- Must be able to distinguish differences in color and shade

Wage: $15-20 per hour based on experience
Hours: 8-16 hours per week; we will collaborate on a flexible schedule between the hours of Mon – Fri, 8am – 5pm
Environment: Lab based, temperature controlled, low humidity.
