Eisenhower Dance Detroit is seeking a Graphic Design & Social Intern to assist in creating visually compelling materials and engaging content that represent the organization's brand across both digital and print platforms. The Graphic Designer Intern is creative, detail-oriented, and eager to apply design skills in a real world arts marketing environment.
This internship offers hands-on experience in branding, layout design, and visual storytelling within a nonprofit setting.
Responsibilities
Design & Creative Production
- Design print and digital collateral including posters, postcards, flyers, social media graphics, and ads
- Support the production of print materials for performances, fundraisers, and educational programs
- Assist with website graphics and visual updates using Squarespace or similar CMS tools
Social Media & Content Creation
- Assist in planning, creating, and scheduling social media content across platforms
- Develop visual and written content that aligns with organizational goals
- Capture and organize media for use in marketing content
Branding & Collaboration
- Collaborate with the Marketing director to ensure cohesive branding and messaging
- Help maintain a consistent visual identity across all platforms and materials
- Participate in creative brainstorming sessions and contribute to concept development
Industry Awareness
- Stay up-to-date with current design trends in arts marketing and nonprofit branding
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Canva
- Basic understanding of Squarespace and SEO principles preferred
- Strong visual communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to take direction and work collaboratively on creative projects
- Interest in dance, arts, or nonprofit work is a plus
