Project Engineering interns will work with the guidance of a mentor to learn and perform basic tasks such as:
- Modeling & drafting in Rhino & Grasshopper 3d modeling software for design, coordination, and fabrication of architectural metal façade components (software training provided)
- Reading and interpreting architectural drawings and models
- Working collaboratively to create fabrication documents and submittal drawing sets
- Designing for fabrication, especially using sheet metal manufacturability fundamentals
The Project Engineering intern will work in an office environment adjacent to Zahner's manufacturing floors. They will have the opportunity for cross-departmental collaboration, including with project management, manufacturing, sales, and R&D.
Preferred Qualifications
- pursuing degree in engineering, architecture or adjacent field
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- collaborative, teamwork orientation with strong interpersonal skills
- strong planning, organizational, and follow-through skills
- reliability, dependability, and consistency in work effort and results
- experience with parametric modeling software is a plus
- experience with Rhino, Grasshopper software is a plus
- familiarity with a programming language is a plus
- experience in construction or manufacturing is a plus
