Gallo Vineyards Operations Internship 2026

A Taste of What You’ll Do

Join us at Gallo Vineyards Inc. as an intern and be part of our mission to produce the finest quality wine grapes using state-of-the-art production techniques. This six-month position offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in various aspects of Winegrowing Operations, including viticulture, irrigation management, pest control, and more.

As an intern, you will support our operations and viticulture practices, gaining hands-on experience in crop estimations, phenology data collection, and irrigation techniques. Your role will be crucial during harvest activities, where you will assist in maturity sampling, harvest equipment preparation, and ensuring quality control for both mechanically and hand-harvested fruit. You'll actively participate in pest and disease scouting, helping to draft treatment thresholds for specific pests, ensuring the health and vitality of our vineyards.

Your expertise will extend to logistical support, where you will aid in the allocation of assets, optimizing our operations. Utilizing GPS technology and the Geographical Information System, you will implement precision farming techniques and map vineyard infrastructure, contributing to our cutting-edge approach to winegrowing. Additionally, you'll assist in the design, layout, and planting of new vineyard blocks, playing a vital role in shaping the future of our vineyards.

What You’ll Need

  • Currently enrolled at a college or university and working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the following majors OR have obtained a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the following majors: Agriculture, Business, Economics, Entomology, Animal Sciences, Biological Sciences, Plant Biology, Ag Systems Management, Viticulture, Horticulture, Plant Science, Agricultural Science, Enology, Soil Science, Food Science, Hydrology, Engineering, Geographical Information Systems, Land Resources Mgt., Forestry, Resource Mgt., Ag Business, Winemaking, Biology, Ag Policy, Chemistry, Spanish, or Environmental.
  • Required to lift and move up to 40 lbs.
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to drive between various production sites and locations.
  • Required availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays when necessary.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
