Materials Engineering Intern

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education:  Preference will be given to college juniors and seniors; students must complete at least one full year in college as a minimum requirement
  • Undergraduate in Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Interns must be able to work a minimum of 4 weeks and able to work a minimum of 10 Hr workweek.
  • Familiar with academic search engines (SciFinder, Google Scholar, etc.)
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative in group settings. 

 

Essential Functions

  • Assist materials team in background research related to current projects.
  • Conduct material/chemical experimentation in a laboratory setting.
  • Conduct literature reviews of scientific journals.
  • Compile and present upon project-specific information gathered through literature reviews and laboratory experimentation.
  • Contribute to discussions and brainstorming sessions focused on solving materials-centered challenges.
  • Report to materials team engineers.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the Materials Team.
