Status: Part-Time (up to 20 hours/week)
Location: CREtelligent – Akron, OH office
Salary Range: $15-$20/hour
Travel Required: less than 10%
Who We're Looking For:
As an intern on our Assessment Services Team, you’ll contribute meaningfully to the development and refinement of our environmental report templates, ensuring they meet evolving standards and maintain consistency across deliverables. You’ll also support our Environmental and Property Condition Assessment teams with data collection and input—both in the field and during report preparation.
This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, clear and professional communication skills (especially in technical writing), and excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. You’ll gain hands-on experience in the commercial real estate due diligence process while working alongside seasoned professionals who are eager to mentor and guide your growth.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Environmental Report Templates
You’ll help maintain and refine our environmental report templates within Quire, a third-party reporting platform. This includes updating templates to align with evolving industry standards and ensuring consistency in formatting, structure, and data usage across all deliverables.
Problem-Solving
As you become familiar with our reporting systems and requirements, you’ll play a key role in identifying issues, answering internal questions, and supporting the team in resolving template-related challenges.
Confidentiality
You’ll be entrusted with proprietary templates and sensitive client information. Maintaining strict confidentiality of records, files, and work products is essential to this role.
Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Due Diligence
Gain hands-on exposure to a variety of CRE environmental due diligence reports, including ESAs, PCAs, TSAs, RSRAs and others (new acronyms too!). You’ll learn how these reports are used to assess environmental risk for clients such as banks, law firms, REITs, and other stakeholders.
Ongoing Growth & Development
Work side-by-side with senior team members who are experts in CRE due diligence. Through mentorship and collaboration, you’ll deepen your understanding of environmental processes, tools, and the business landscape that drives them.
Field Work Experience
Join experienced professionals on-site to observe and assist in data collection for Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Phase II Investigations, and Property Condition Assessments (PCAs). This real-world experience will enhance your ability to connect field data with report insights and risk evaluation
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of post-secondary education in geology, engineering, mathematics, chemistry, biology or other physical science
Strong organizational skills
A great work ethic (self-starter) – i.e., not afraid to jump in, learn the business and make an impact
The ability to communicate effectively with team members both verbally and in writing
The ability to adapt to updates in technology and process
Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite software, such as Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook. The willingness to dive in and learn new platforms.
GIS training or experience a plus
The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily and, if requested, reasonable accommodations will be made to enable employees with disabilities to perform the essential functions of their job, absent undue hardship.
