About the EDGE Program:

The DTCC EDGE IT Program offers accelerated professional development opportunities for recent university graduates. This 18-month rotational initiative enables Analysts to enhance both technical and leadership capabilities through practical work experiences and a comprehensive training curriculum. All participants engage in structured trainings and rotations within one of the IT departments listed below.

An IT Business Analyst, or Business Systems Analyst, oversees assessing information technology systems and making suggestions for how they can better meet business needs. Their duties include risk management, communications, employee engagement activities, requirements development, developing IT plans, workflows, RACIs and reports with stakeholders. The IT Business Analyst will work to ensure operational efficiency and excellence of specific DTCC business and technology processes. Candidates will be allocated across multiple IT departments.

IT Departments Overview:

Enterprise Product & Platform Engineering (EPPE) Infrastructure develops and manages platforms that support core IT systems. EPPE enables business outcomes, drives innovation, and boosts operational resilience by shifting from manual infrastructure delivery to a modern, automated, code-driven approach focused on Infrastructure as Code (IaC), self-service, and platform engineering. The division is organised into specialised departments that collaborate to maintain a unified and robust infrastructure ecosystem.

EPPE is organized into six key areas:

Infrastructure Enablement: This includes automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), management of shared services and tools, development support, and change/release management.

Cloud Platforms & Engineering: Design and manage public/private clouds, containers, virtualization, backup, and AI/BI platform operations.

Network Engineering: Architecture, operations, instrumentation, telecom provisioning.

Data Engineering: Database engineering on DB2, SQL, Oracle, and Aurora; data operations and platform support.

Mainframe Engineering, Resiliency & Infrastructure Testing: Involves mainframe operating system, security, storage, and communications engineering; disaster recovery, cyber recovery, and operational resilience; as well as infrastructure testing and extended run operations.

Enterprise Production Stability: Oversight of incident and problem management across multiple regions, strategic data center operations, capacity planning, and command center management.

 

Application Development builds and maintains systems for financial market infrastructure, focusing on secure and scalable post-trade applications. They support clearing, settlement, asset servicing, and data reporting worldwide, ensuring compliance and resilience. The AD teams include Software Developers, DevOps Engineers, and QA/Test Engineers.

Application Development Teams:

IT FinSight Delivery: Network connectivity (including relevant firewalls), overall infrastructure availability (servers, databases, NFS mounts, etc.), interconnectedness of applications, application code, application performance, external connectivity, as well as monitoring and alerting.

WRAFT Delivery: Wealth Management Services, Fixed Income (FICC), Asset Services, Repository & Derivative Services (RDS), as well as Business, Governance, and Application Support.

Equities Delivery: Equity ClearingInstitutional Trade Processing (ITP)Equities SettlementBusiness, Governance and Application Support

 

Technology Research & Innovation (TRI) at DTCC leads enterprise-wide AI efforts by collaborating across business areas for responsible integration. TRI pilots and assesses emerging technologies, supports digital assets through Launchpad and web3 infrastructure, engages in industry events and partnerships, and contributes thought leadership.

TRI’s work spans four main domains:

AI: Oversees organization-wide initiatives, tools like Insight IQ, and platforms supporting experimentation.

Digital Assets & Web3: Develops financial infrastructure and projects such as the Launchpad and Collateral Industry Pilot.

Emerging Technology: Evaluates tools and innovation in quantum computing, cryptography, and strategic technology projects.

Open Innovation: Fosters collaboration through hackathons, academic partnerships, and internal professional development.

 

Architecture and Enterprise Services (AES)  provides the models, governance, and practices essential for defining, planning, and managing Business and IT capabilities. The department is committed to reducing risk and increasing operational efficiency across the organization.

AES Key Focus Areas

Enterprise Architecture Governance: Oversees ITAES procedures, standards, and policies to ensure consistent architectural practices.

Application and Platform Architecture: Offers consultative services for application design and development, while managing enterprise architecture standards and governance.

Corporate and Common Services (CCS): Delivers foundational IT services that support the development and operation of DTCC’s business applications.

Cybersecurity Architecture: Designs secure architectural solutions and publishes reusable security patterns to strengthen information security.

Data Architecture and Analytics: Simplifies DTCC’s data environment by establishing enterprise-level standards and best practices for data governance and delivery.

Digital Services and Governance: Enhances digital customer experience through intuitive interfaces, proactive support, and strengthened governance.

IT Business Management & Operations (BMO): Manages IT system delivery processes, performance metrics, and provides business and operational support.

Client & Messaging Technologies: Supports enterprise frameworks including Middleware, Messaging, Web Platforms, FIX, and SWIFT through secure and scalable infrastructure.
