Job Summary: To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning by cultivating awareness and understanding of educational equity. The Educational Equity Coordinator will be responsible for: supervising Equity Teacher and Equity Specialist positions, creating targeted and differentiated equity-centered professional development and curricula for the district, extracting data at assigned school sites for coaching, and to distribute leadership with their Staff Development Assessment Specialist (SDAS) and Equity Specialist reports. The position requires strategic leadership and collaboration in the development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and improvement of instructional and systemic equity initiatives; serving as a liaison between administration, staff, and community; and identifying, creating and delivering professional development, training and coaching. The Coordinator will be responsible for the alignment of their year-long scope and sequence work with other DOEE Coordinators, departments and sites, as directed by the Director of Educational Equity.
Provide Strategic Leadership
Tasks involved in fulfilling above duty/responsibility:
- Aligning function with mission and core values of the organization.
- Developing, evaluating, and improving instructional and systemic equity initiatives through collaboration with: site leaders to identify, develop, and disseminate resources; Learning and Achievement staff during Program Improvement Process and curriculum and professional development; and school administration on the development of Site Improvement Plans.
- Supervising a team of Equity Teacher and Equity Specialist positions, creating year-long scope and sequence for their aligned work, evaluating Equity Teacher and Equity Specialist positions during the year as part of managerial duties and supervisory role.
- Acting as a leader in district initiatives and strategies and serving on task forces and committees to improve service delivery to students and families.
- Extracting data via school improvement plan, data digs, and progress monitoring tools to ensure coherence in the teamwide scope and sequence for equity relevant and equity centered leadership.
- Developing and communicating shared vision for areas of responsibility.
Provide Performance Leadership
- Developing staff and/or individual capacity to apply technical/functional expertise for maximum impact.
- Supporting the direct reports through coaching and differentiated support; creates a schedule for feedback and for observations that allow for clarity in roles in the team.
- Recommending for employment and coordinating hiring for direct reports.
- Providing supervision to direct reports, including formative feedback and timely performance evaluations and/or demonstrating attention to quality enhancement by improving efficiencies and effectiveness in recordkeeping, workflow and compliance.
- Creating culturally relevant curricula to influence and impact classroom facing work that Equity Teacher and Equity Specialist manage, developing and cultivating partnerships within DLTL and other departments across the district whilst providing details in delegation and direction to team members.
- Leading the work of others; delegating tasks and authority appropriately and/or establishing procedures to guide system and departmental work; monitoring and demonstrating effective decision-making strategies in order to meet project deadlines.

- Using pedagogical leadership skills to influence and impact classroom facing work that Equity Teacher and Equity Specialist manage, provides culturally relevant pedagogical feedback to staff to best meet the equity-centered data goals at designated sites.
- Providing coordination and data driven collaborative action with a variety of departments responsible for closing the achievement gap;
- Establishing fidelity and sustainability for initiatives by identifying and securing grant opportunities.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Master's Degree preferred; or equivalent postgraduate coursework.
Essential knowledge and specialized subject knowledge required to perform the essential functions of the job:
- Knowledge of Human- Centered Design Thinking tools for the purpose of empowering families and promoting equity, challenging assumptions and biases, and developing a collaborative decision-making process.
- Knowledge and belief in the Osseo Area Schools mission, Racial Equity in Educational Achievement policy and core values.
- Knowledge and skill in engaging multiple perspectives.
Required Work Experience in Addition to Formal Education/Training: Minimum of three or more continuous years of successful teaching experience required. An additional five years of experience collaboratively leading equity initiatives in an educational setting, trained/facilitated educators using data, created and implemented professional development, community organizing, and/or social service experience required.
Required Supervisory Experience: Two years of supervisory experience in a public school, non-profit or community-based organization or in another school leadership capacity.
