Lunch Monitor (Multiple Openings)

The Hyde Park Central School  District is seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Part-time Elementary School Lunch Monitor at North Park Elementary School. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring a safe, orderly, and positive lunch experience for our students.

Tentative Assignment: North Park Elementary School (subject to change)
 

Responsibilities:

Supervise students during lunch periods in the cafeteria, promoting a positive and respectful environment.

Enforce school rules and expectations regarding behavior, noise levels, and cleanliness.

Assist students with opening food containers and other lunch-related needs as necessary.

Monitor student allergies and ensure students are only consuming their own food.

Address minor behavioral issues and refer more serious concerns to appropriate school staff (e.g., teachers, administration).

Facilitate a smooth flow of students in and out of the cafeteria.

Ensure students dispose of trash properly and maintain a clean eating area.

Collaborate with cafeteria staff and teachers to support overall student well-being.

Respond to student inquiries and provide assistance as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience working with elementary school-aged children preferred.

Ability to maintain a calm and patient demeanor in a busy environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to enforce rules consistently and fairly.

Reliable and punctual.

Successful completion of background check and fingerprinting.
