Government Affairs Intern

Program Overview:

Comcast’s Central Division is seeking dynamic, self-motivated intern participants who have a strong passion to drive the age of innovation through our immersive summer experience! 

 

Our 11-week paid internship program gives participants hands-on experience working with various groups across multiple office locations within Comcast’s Central Division. As a member of the team, you will gain invaluable knowledge of the industry, be part of our diverse and welcoming culture, and receive exposure to other areas of the business. 

 

Your experience will also include:

As you get an inside look into the day-to-day operations of a cutting-edge media and technology company, you’ll work on creative, impactful, and thought-provoking projects with various business units. With many exhilarating experiences built into one internship, you will have the opportunity to take center stage and showcase your summer projects during the final Summer Showcase.

Professional Development & Fun: You will have the opportunity to network with fellow intern participants through social activities, community building, and Experience Days. Our 11-week internship program maintains a strong focus on professional growth and development. Through activities like speaker series and skill-building workshops you will jump-start your career. Plus, we build in time for you to network with senior leaders and enjoy collaborative activities with your fellow program participants.

 

About the Central Division

Comcast’s Central Division spans a vibrant and diverse region, encompassing major markets such as Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, and Nashville. As one of Comcast’s three primary divisions, the Central Division plays a critical role in driving innovation, operational excellence, and customer experience across the organization. Interns in this division will have the opportunity to collaborate with top-tier professionals, contribute to impactful projects, and explore career paths in technology, business operations, marketing, and more.
 

Role Overview:

The Government Affairs Intern Participants will assist full time project coordinators and managers on a variety of projects. As a Government Affairs intern participant, you should expect to assist with the coordination and management of Corporate Government Affairs programs, including working with other departments to gather relevant data and coordinate many of the Company's advocacy efforts. 

 

This role is an exciting opportunity that will focus on supporting the execution of significant projects that will require exceptional organizational skills and a customer-first mindset to succeed within a fast-paced environment.

 

You may also:

Assist in development and presentation of materials for use by company personnel in lobbying and outreach efforts

Create content including videos, slides, or other visual presentations and plans

Coordinate various tasks related to special community affairs programs

Write, edit, and seek approval for grant applications

Represent the company at local community events

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

Basic Qualifications/Requirements:

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

Permanent US Work Authorization Required

Ability to work 35-40 hours per week over 11 weeks

Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance

Ability to work in both independent and collaborative environments

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)

 

 

Preferred Background:

Prior business exposure through internships, work experiences, or campus organizations

Currently pursuing a major in Political Science, Public Relations, Communication, Journalism, or related fields

Interest in the telecommunications, cable, and media industries
