Internship - Tax Preparer

JOB SUMMARY

Candidate will be immersed in all aspects of a small CPA firm specializing in tax and tax planning. They will be interacting with staff as well as clients, participating in the preparation of a multitude of tax returns and schedules (individual, small business, and trusts/estates). The candidate will also interact with clients to gather information needed to complete tax returns and will input data into systems necessary for the preparation of tax returns. This is a small CPA firm and the ideal candidate will undertake many duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Tax Season (February – April): Assist in preparation of individual, corporate, trust/estate, etc. tax returns.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

An entrepreneurial minded individual looking for a different track than big/regional public accounting firms. Our small growing firm allows individuals to be fully immersed in servicing our clients from initial engagement through final resolution. Candidate will be exposed to many areas of a tax practice in a very short period of time. Entrepreneurial candidates will be an ideal fit as our firm’s structure allows an individual to learn and gain valuable experience.

-Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment

-Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

-High level of interpersonal skills with demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy

-Demonstrate a proficient level of professional skill and/or knowledge in accounting and keep current with developments and trends

-Knowledge and ability to use applicable information technology and systems to meet work needs. (We use a variety of software suites so the expectation is simply a high level of comfort using technology.)

-Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of staff, and more importantly, the ability to communicate with clients.
