DS Sports is the parent company of six premier baseball event organizations: RussMatt, Snowbird, Palm Beach Challenge, Prospect Wire, USA Premier, and Greater Orlando Baseball. Together, we deliver top-tier tournaments and showcases that attract teams from across the country. Our internship program provides students with valuable hands-on experience in sports management, event operations, and marketing.
Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual to join our team as a Baseball Event Operations Intern. This role provides the opportunity to gain firsthand experience in the planning, coordination, and execution of baseball events, while also contributing to marketing and business operations
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and coordination of baseball events.
- Support the logistical aspects of event setup (venue preparation, equipment and merchandise management, and signage placement).
- Collaborate with event participants.
- Provide on-site support during events, including admissions, merchandise sales, scorekeeping, and customer service.
- Assist with post-event activities, such as cleanup, returning merchandise and equipment to headquarters, inventory of merchandise and event items, gathering feedback, and video editing.
- Contribute creative ideas for enhancing the overall attendee experience and event impact.
- Assist with data research and data collection.
- Support with marketing through social media and email marketing.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Event Management, Marketing, or related field.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends as required by event schedules.
- Passion for baseball and interest in sports event management.
Additional Information:
- This is a paid internship with a $2,500 stipend.
- Participation in a minimum of five DS Sports events is required, providing hands-on experience in event operations.
- Complete an end-of-internship presentation summarizing your experiences, key learnings, and contributions.
- Candidates must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.
- Opportunities for travel may be available, depending on the scope of events and organizational needs.
- Successful completion of the internship may lead to potential future employment opportunities within the organization.
