USDA - Biological Science Technician
The Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is the U.S. Department of Agriculture's chief scientific in-house research agency. Their job is finding solutions to agricultural problems that affect Americans every day from field to table.
Major responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to: 1. Organizes, curates, or creates datasheets using statistical software and spreadsheets. 2. Tabulates, statistically analyzes, and summarizes data using personal computers and software packages. 3. Organizes and curates animal tissue samples, DNA, RNA, protein, or other sample collections. 4. Participates as a team member with the scientist in all phases of the research process and assumes technical and operational responsibility for specific phases of the research. 5. Prepares solutions and reagents for use in the laboratory. 6. Perform analytical chemistry techniques including ELISA, Western blot, qPCR.
