Fire Protection Design Intern

Summary

The Fire Protection Design Intern to the Fire Protection Division of The Hill Group will work closely with Fire Protection Designers and their teams in order to assist in the design of commercial, industrial and residential sprinkler fire systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support to Fire Protection Designers working with the design of sprinkler systems
  • Assist with project coordination, scheduling, change requests and technical assistance
  • Assist estimators and other design personnel with technical interpretation as needed
• Assist in the design a variety of piping systems, in accordance with applicable codes within the scope of the contract
  • Obtain all necessary approvals and reviews of project design data
• Conform piping arrangements to meet standard product or materials usage
• Maintain organized records of active projects
• Prepare stock lists in standard company format
• Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Building Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related major
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
• Experience working with AutoCAD
• Strong math and analytical skills
