Our overall mission at EPH is to enable families to thrive, The mission of our childcare programs are to create a safe, engaging, and supportive space where toddlers can explore, discover, and develop their unique talents.

Job Summary Statement:

The role of the Marketing Intern is to support the Development & Communications strategy at Elizabeth Peabody House with content planning and creation, marketing campaign management, and other projects as assigned. The Marketing Intern will play a key role to ensure the smooth and effective implementation of communications projects and campaigns to support key EPH initiatives and goals such as:

  • Food Pantry Thanksgiving Turkey Drive, ongoing through November 24, 2025
  • EPH Annual Fundraising Appeal, September 2025 to December 2025
  • Monthly Community E- Newsletter and Digital Program Marketing Campaign, Ongoing
  • Monthly Parent and Volunteer E-Newsletters, Ongoing

Reports to:

Development Manager

Essential Functions:

  • Work with the Development Manager and EPH Leadership team to maintain an active editorial calendar including program marketing, awareness campaigns, fundraising campaigns, and other communications and development projects as they arise.
  • Play an active role in planning, creating, and posting engaging, goal-oriented content for website, social media, and email marketing as directed by the Development Manager.
  • Assist with digital marketing strategies for promoting the work, advocacy, mission, and values of EPH across all digital communications platforms.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by the Development Manager and EPH Leadership team.
  • Responsibilities may vary based on the interests and specific strengths of the selected candidate and EPH’s ongoing needs. This opportunity includes active collaboration with and mentorship from seasoned nonprofit marketing, communications, and fundraising professionals.

Requirements:

  • Experience developing editorial and campaign strategies for Social Media brand management, particularly LinkedIN, Facebook, and/or Instagram strongly preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with digital communications and or content creation tools ex. WordPress, Bloomerang or similar Contact Management System (CRM), Google Docs, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, E-Mail Marketing, Adobe Creative Suite (Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier) preferred.
  • Comfort working in a grassroots, small staff setting with shifting or competing priorities.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently to move projects forward and collaborate as part of a team as needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of education as a key component of social equity and tool to address access barriers, racial and social justice issues, and food security and nutrition equity, and cultural competence preferred.
  • Prior personal or professional experience working with children between the ages 15 months and 13 years and low-income individuals of all ages preferred.
  • Interest in non-profit and/or, social service agencies, preferred, prior experience in a nonprofit setting is a plus.
  • Bilingual Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole a plus
