INTERN, TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Anticipated Start Date: Immediately | Hourly Wage $17.00

 

The Impact You'll Make In This Role:

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.    Demonstrate integrity and high work standards as a member of the support team.


2.    Provide comprehensive customer service and support to customers via ticketing system, phone, email, walk-ins, and remote tools.


3.    Diagnose, repair, and maintain various technologies, including desktops, laptops, tablets, phones, printers, software, and peripherals.


4.    Travel occasionally to offsite locations to provide on-location support.


5.    Escalate support and request items to appropriate technical staff or vendors when necessary, ensuring clear communication and timely follow-up.  


6.    Collaborate with team to provision, modify, update, and decommission customer equipment, software, and user access.


7.    Acquire and maintain knowledge of IT supported software and hardware solutions.


8.    Build positive working relationships with customers and IT team members to improve engagement and understanding of departmental roles and responsibilities.


9.    Test and evaluate software/hardware and provide recommendations for existing and future customer needs.


10.    Create, maintain, and share user guides, training materials, and work instructions. to support and educate.


11.    Assist with the inventory management for hardware.


12.    Perform additional duties as assigned.
 

Your Experience and Expertise:

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience: Student pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or a related field

 

Required Skills:

Customer service oriented with a positive attitude.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in person, virtually, and over the phone.

Competency with Windows OS, MS Office Suite, and basic networking fundamentals.

Knowledge of Active Directory and mobile devices (Android & iOS).

Strong organizational, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills.

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to maintain technical documentation, cross-train peers, and mentor others.

Must be self‐motivated, disciplined, and able to perform job duties independently.
