The Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is the U.S. Department of Agriculture's chief scientific in-house research agency. Their job is finding solutions to agricultural problems that affect Americans every day from field to table.

Major responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to: 

1. Perform routine and recurring scientific techniques using various specialized equipment. 2. Collect, process and measure samples from chickens. 3. Adapt new techniques and procedures to fulfill the needs of the current projects. 4. Enter and organize scientific data in appropriate computer software. 5. Maintain experimental data and records.
