Akron Community Internship: Podcasting Internship at Akron Roundtable
The Akron Roundtable was established in 1976 as a community forum to encourage and bring bold, creative and new ideas to the region. To date, more than 400 major corporate executives, writers, government officials, artists, and civic leaders from around the country have shared their thoughts on subjects of global, national and regional importance with Akron Roundtable audiences.
Our Mission: Akron Roundtable inspires and promotes community dialog and networking by presenting speakers who inform and educate listeners on diverse topics of importance to the region, the nation and the world.
Hours: 100 hours during the internship.
Date: Fall 2025 (exact dates TBD to accommodate student schedules)
Location: Hybrid/Remote
Key Responsibilities
- Meet with Akron Roundtable to discuss goals of podcast.
- Identify details regarding podcast implementation, such as: Hosting platform(s) and Listening platforms(s) – i.e., Google Play, iTunes, Spotify, etc.
- Record intro and outro pieces for podcast, which includes: coming up with draft copy, procuring a speaker who would do the actual voiceover work, determining types of sounds/music needed, editing intro/outro pieces.
- Edit recordings into final podcast form.
- Upload podcasts complete with show notes.
