As a recognized leader in providing Private Markets Solutions to clients across the globe we manage approximately $140.9 billion in discretionary assets and have oversight of an additional $845.3 in non-discretionary assets as of June 30, 2025.
The Opportunity:
Our Analyst Development Program provides a two-year opportunity within our Portfolio Management Group (PMG) to gain Private Markets experience, training, and mentorship within Hamilton Lane’s Investment Division.
The Portfolio Management Group provides insightful, data-driven analysis pertaining to private markets portfolio construction, strategy and risk.
As you begin the Analyst Development Program you will participate in an orientation, which will provide education on Hamilton Lane and the Private Markets investment universe and industry.
After orientation, you will become an active member of the Portfolio Management Group supporting Hamilton Lane’s clients globally.
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Analyze proprietary data sets and build financial models to support Hamilton Lane’s portfolio construction philosophy, investment allocation decisions, and in-depth market research.
- Use quantitative analysis to develop a deep understanding of all private markets strategies pursued by Hamilton Lane, including venture capital, leveraged buyouts, credit, infrastructure, and real estate.
- Evaluate the attributes of private investment opportunities sourced by Hamilton Lane’s Investment Teams to determine portfolio fit by joining investment team meetings to hear about investments first hand.
- Analysts will get rotating exposure to all investment teams at Hamilton Lane, and analysts that successfully graduate the program and stay on as an associate in the portfolio management group will have an opportunity to work more consistently with one or two investment teams.
- Assess the development, performance, and risk factors of client portfolios and make recommendations on adjustments to portfolio strategy.
- Address queries from clients, prospects, and industry partners related to portfolio construction.
- Combine investment acumen with quantitative analysis to support the investment process and promote the firm as an industry thought leader.
- Work on special projects and other company initiatives, including development of portfolio construction tools, the firm’s annual market overview and technology initiatives based on work prototyped by the portfolio management team.
- The portfolio management group sits centrally within Hamilton Lane and is a team that accesses and learns across assets classes, regions, strategies and portfolios making it an ideal team to help support ongoing education across the broader firm on new trends and best practices. Successful analysts will have the opportunity to present to and train peers across the firm

Your background will include:
- Undergraduate or Master’s students graduating between September 2025 through June 2026.
- Technical Skills: experience with financial modeling, basic statistical analysis, and/or data analysis is required. Programming / scripting skills (SQL, R, Python, MATLAB, etc.) are a plus.
- Demonstrated interest in the Investment Industry through internships, academic and/or extra-curricular pursuits.
- Leadership experience.
- Examples of being a self-starter with a drive to excel.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to grasp new concepts.
- Excellent communications skills with a proficiency in the English Language
- Ability to work effectively within a team
