About You
- Studying or graduated from a program in marketing, digital marketing, public relations, business, communications, advertising, or a related field.
- Passionate about marketing, branding, digital media, entertainment, music, fashion, and culture.
- Strong interest in current marketing trends, audience behavior, branding strategies, and digital campaigns.
- Basic understanding of marketing principles with a strong desire to learn more about real-world campaign planning and execution.
- Creative thinker with the ability to develop fresh ideas for campaigns, promotions, partnerships, and audience growth.
- Strong communication, research, writing, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable using digital tools, spreadsheets, social media platforms, and online research resources.
- Interested in learning how marketing operates across digital publishing, music, social media, partnerships, and entertainment brands.
- Highly organized, motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with marketing, editorial, music, design, and social media teams.
- Proactive and able to manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Professional and capable of handling confidential business information.
- Available part-time (minimum 8 hours/week) or full-time for at least 4 months.
- Experience in digital marketing, content creation, advertising, public relations, or social media is considered an asset.
Marketing Internship Role
Funktasy – Magazine & Music Group is looking for highly motivated, organized, and creative individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in marketing, digital strategy, branding, campaign development, audience growth, and entertainment media.
As part of the Marketing team, you will contribute to campaigns and initiatives across Funktasy Magazine, Funktasy Music Group, brand partnerships, social media, and other company divisions. You will assist with market research, campaign planning, promotional materials, outreach, audience development, and cross-platform marketing projects while collaborating with Funktasy’s editorial, music, social media, and creative teams.
Throughout the internship, you’ll gain practical experience with marketing strategy, campaign planning, market research, branding, audience development, promotional outreach, digital marketing, and performance reportingwithin a growing entertainment and media company.
Your Responsibilities
- Assist with developing and executing marketing strategies across Funktasy’s magazine, music, social media, partnerships, and digital platforms.
- Conduct market research to identify audience trends, industry developments, competitors, potential partners, and new marketing opportunities.
- Support campaign planning, coordination, execution, and reporting for editorial, music releases, brand partnerships, events, and company initiatives.
- Collaborate with Funktasy’s graphic design and creative teams to develop marketing materials, digital assets, advertisements, and promotional content.
- Research and build targeted contact lists for marketing outreach, partnerships, advertising, promotions, and business development initiatives.
- Assist with professional email outreach and other approved communication with prospective clients, partners, brands, and industry contacts.
- Support advertising, promotional, and audience-development initiatives across Funktasy Magazine and Funktasy Music Group.
- Contribute to marketing campaigns designed to increase readership, engagement, brand awareness, audience growth, and music discovery.
- Monitor marketing trends, digital platforms, audience behavior, and emerging opportunities relevant to Funktasy’s brands and campaigns.
- Develop creative, trend-driven ideas that support Funktasy’s artists, editorial content, brand partnerships, and marketing initiatives.
- Collaborate with editorial, social media, graphic design, A&R, music, and administrative teams on cross-functional marketing projects.
- Assist with preparing campaign reports, research summaries, marketing briefs, presentations, and internal planning documents.
- Track campaign activity and assist with evaluating performance, engagement, reach, and other relevant marketing metrics.
- Maintain organized marketing records, contact information, campaign materials, and project documentation.
- Assist with other marketing, promotional, audience-development, and administrative projects as required.

Internship Terms & Conditions
- Funktasy Internship Programs are unpaid. Upon request, Funktasy is willing to work with a student to receive academic credit through their school/university program.
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- We do not offer housing or travel accommodations.
- We do not offer any work visas for international students.
- All internship programs are in English.
Duration & Schedule
- Length: Standard internship term is 4 months (approx. 140 hours total). Extensions may be available if desired.
- Weekly Commitment: 8 hours per week, with half of those hours (4 hrs/week) dedicated to mandatory online group meetings.
- Start Dates: Internships begin every two months (bi-monthly start dates). Placements are first-come, first-served.
- Registration: We recommend applying 3–6 months in advance to secure your preferred term.
- School Credit: If your school requires additional hours for credit, schedules can be adjusted accordingly.

- Hybrid/online – Remote from Canada, U.S.A. or Europe.
