Project Manager - Crashworthy Program

To thrive as a Program Manager at Martin Baker, you must be a skilled communicator, strategic planner, and proactive problem solver. You will serve as the primary point of contact between the company and its customers, managing product line activities from pricing proposals and order acceptance to final delivery.

Your ability to coordinate across departments-Quality, Purchasing, Operations, and Finance-is essential to ensure smooth execution and customer satisfaction. You'll regularly review workloads, adjust schedules, and develop plans to meet customer requirements across multiple product lines.

Strong analytical skills are key, as you'll prepare budgets, track performance, and resolve discrepancies in contract execution. You'll also support proposal development and contract negotiations by providing accurate labor, cost, and schedule data.

Customer engagement is central to this role. You'll maintain ongoing communication to provide product information, resolve issues, and coordinate product improvements. You'll also attend meetings and conference calls to review performance and support new product development.

Attention to detail and risk awareness are critical, as you'll track deliverables, monitor program risks, and recommend corrective actions to senior management. Occasional travel may be required to meet with customers and support business growth.

Key Accountabilities:

New product development - On-time delivery against milestone activities.

Production activity - On-time, in-full product delivery.

Understands the company's mission, vision and values and how they are relevant to the role and function. Encourage teamwork, promote integration and accountability, show humility, exercise discipline and work to improve and grow in your skill sets as an individual contributor.

Actively develop relationships with potential customers such as prime contractors and Government agencies.

Experience and Knowledge.

Must have experience in the function, management, and use of an Enterprise Resource Planning System. Previous experience must demonstrate the ability to work with a minimum of supervision, a high degree of creativity, and wide latitude in execution of responsibilities.

Education

Position requires a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations or related fields and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing production environment.

Project Management Certification is preferred.

Specific Skills

Communications

Position requires the ability to make persuasive presentations to company executives, customers, and other external agencies in high stakes situations. Position requires the ability to clearly communicate information to subordinates, peers, superiors and customers.


Technical Ability

Position an in depth understanding of company operations. Position requires an understanding of government contract laws and regulations including export compliance. Position requires an exceptionally high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Position requires the ability to review and evaluate cost estimates and budget performance and provide necessary inputs to the Financial Analyst.

Leadership

Position requires demonstrated leadership skills necessary to lead disparate groups of organizations and individuals not under direct control.

Management

Position requires a demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently manage large volumes of data for compilation, submittal, and record keeping.

Teamwork

Position requires demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with subordinates, peers, and high-performance executives.
