Intern, Tax (Spring 2027)
About the Role:
The Tax Department Internship is an excellent opportunity for budding young professionals who wish to gain more experience in the accounting field. It provides college students and recent graduates with the opportunity to work on multiple projects, experiencing the full breadth of responsibilities that come during servicing clients. The internship also provides the opportunity to develop strong working relationships with clients and their other team members, setting the stage for developing a professional network.
Tax Procedures
- Preparation of personal, partnership, corporation, and trust tax returns and extensions
- Preparation of 1099s
- Create and organize work paper files and perform other assorted projects as assigned
- Conduct basic research and sit in on discussions about tax planning opportunities
- Respond to tax notices on behalf of the clients
- Collaborate with experienced professionals on multiple assignments and develop relationships internally at Wiss
Desired Characteristics
- 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or another business-related field.
- Graduating within the next 2 years, with 150 credits preferred.
- Must be able to work 3 days/week on-site.
- Candidates must be detail oriented and interested in pursuing a career in public accounting. We are looking for highly motivated team players who possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, in addition to exhibiting effective problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
