Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pool Manager Intern to join our Aquatics team. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in recreation management, hospitality, sports management, or leadership development. The intern will gain hands-on experience in aquatic operations, staff management, food & beverage, safety protocols, and member service while contributing to a thriving seasonal pool program.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist Restaurant Manager with day-to-day operations of the pool facility.
• Coordinate with the food & beverage team for concession and poolside service operations.
• Support staff training on safety, first aid, and customer service standards.
• Manage pool schedules, member communications, and activity calendars.
• Participate in ordering, setup, daily maintenance checks, and post-season breakdown.
• Assist with organizing and executing special events and family activities.
• Respond to member inquiries and resolve concerns in a professional, service-oriented manner.
Supporting Responsibilities:
• Assist with scheduling, payroll verification, and staff evaluations.
• Help track inventory of pool supplies, safety equipment, and amenities.
• Support marketing and communications for pool activities and events.
• Shadow leadership meetings and collaborate with other departments.
Learning Objectives
• Learn effective staff supervision and team leadership in a seasonal recreation setting.
• Gain hands-on experience in aquatic facility management and guest services.
• Understand safety protocols, compliance, and risk management practices.
• Develop scheduling, communication, and operational management skills.
• Experience cross-department collaboration in a country club environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Current student or recent graduate in Recreation Management, Hospitality, Sports Management, or related field.
• Leadership experience, preferably in aquatics, recreation, or hospitality.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Lifeguard and/or CPR/First Aid certification a plus.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays during the pool season.
• Reliable, service-oriented, and enthusiastic about member experiences.
Internship Details:
• Duration: May – September (Flexible start/end dates based on availability)
• Hours: Approximately 32 – 40 hours per week; hours will vary based on pool schedule and events.
• Compensation: Paid Hourly
• Reports To: Restaurant Manager & Clubhouse Operations Leadership
