Part-Time Academic Tutor

Club Z! In-Home Tutoring Services of Tacoma, is currently seeking enthusiastic, energetic and creative tutors interested in part-time work. Applicants must be comfortable working in-person with students, be enrolled in college and have experience working with children. Tutors are paid $22 - $35 /hour depending on the assignment.

Each student has different needs, but the most common is one hour/week between the hours of 3pm - 7pm. Most of our tutors see multiple students, the average tutor has 3-4 weekly clients, but many have more than that. We are seeing the highest demand for tutors who can support early reading and writing work, mathematics at all levels, sciences, and Spanish language and ELA.

Tutors choose which jobs they take and work with client families to create a schedule that works for them. If there is a cancellation with less than 24-hour notice, or the session ends early, Club Z! pays tutors for the time they scheduled regardless of client participation. Tutors are paid by Club Z! after submitting a monthly invoice. 

Our greatest needs are in the following areas:

•          General Ed. for Elementary and Middle School students

•          Special Education

•          High School level Math and Sciences (including calculus, pre-calculus, geometry, trigonometry, algebra, English, physics and chemistry)

•          High School level Critical Reading and Writing

•          Foreign Language (including French, Spanish and Latin)

• Reliable transportation and internet access

We match students with tutors near them based on student needs and tutor qualifications. Most tutoring sessions occur after school and early evenings in the safety and comfort of the child's home or venue of choice, such as a public library or nearby coffee shop. On occasion, tutors will meet with a student earlier in the day at the student's school. Club Z’s office is located in North Tacoma and we have been serving local families for over 16 years in the Greater Tacoma, NE Tacoma, Gig-Harbor, Puyallup, Lakewood, Steilacoom and Spanaway areas.
