Investment Analyst

Position Description

The Investment Analyst will be a key part of teams that manage multi-asset class client portfolios or evaluate alternative investment opportunities for our clients. Based on a candidate’s interest and the needs of the Firm, the Analyst will primarily focus on either (1) Portfolio Management or (2) Asset Manager Due Diligence, as described below. Regardless of the area of focus, the Investment Analyst will gain exposure to our full investment process and develop an understanding of all parts of the business. 

The Investment Analyst will also contribute to broader Firm development through participation in specific projects or initiatives. As a rapidly growing business, we seek new team members with a willingness to learn, who are dynamic and comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.  

Portfolio Management: Investment Analysts focused on Portfolio Management will work in teams of three to six people to specify, develop and execute our clients’ investment strategies. This role will involve, among other things: 

  • Setting and continuously developing a long-term asset allocation strategy for client portfolios 
  • Recommending manager additions and redemptions based on client goals and constraints, macro conditions and/or updated diligence 
  • Understanding the broader investment landscape for alternative strategies and potential implications to our clients’ portfolio construction 
  • Ongoing monitoring and management of portfolio exposures  
  • Producing materials for client meetings to report on and analyze the drivers of investment performance and prompt discussion on investment strategy  

Asset Manager Due Diligence: Investment Analysts focused on Asset Manager Due Diligence will be responsible for 

  • Conducting due diligence on asset managers, who, once approved through our investment process, would deploy our clients’ capital 
  • Understanding the broader investment landscape for alternative strategies and potential implications to our clients’ portfolio construction 
  • Displaying a high level of maturity and gravitas, as the role involves exposure to some of the most seasoned and respected asset managers in the world 
  • Over time, developing one or more specialist areas of expertise, maintaining relationships with asset managers and identifying/sponsoring new investment opportunities  

Other: In addition to the above, the Investment Analyst will take on other activities and projects that contribute to the broader development of the Firm, which might include: researching and improving our portfolio construction knowledge and approach, assisting with business development, and/or developing our technological capabilities. 

Key responsibilities will be regularly assessed and are subject to change periodically based on the needs of the business. The individual may be required to work overtime, as needed.

  • Undergraduate degree with a strong track record of academic achievement 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)

This base salary range is specific to individuals applying to the Investment Analyst role across our North American offices and takes into account a number of factors, including geographical location. A reasonable estimate of the base salary for this role $90,000 - $100,000. The base salary offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, certifications and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. The base salary is one element of our competitive compensation package. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives and our profit share program.
