Social Media & Marketing Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Social Media & Marketing Manager will own the development and execution of our full-funnel social strategy, with a primary focus on growing and optimizing Haymaker Network’s YouTube and overall social media presence. You’ll manage video content, craft platform-specific strategies, lead channel branding, and coordinate with podcast hosts to maximize audience reach and retention. This role requires a strong balance of creative production and marketing analytics—ideal for someone who lives and breathes content strategy, YouTube algorithms, and digital engagement.


 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

YouTube Strategy & Execution

  • Own the content strategy, SEO, and growth plan for the Haymaker Network YouTube channel(s).
  • Edit and optimize long-form and short-form video content for YouTube, including podcast episode uploads, highlight clips, Shorts, and trailers.
  • Create compelling thumbnails, titles, tags, and descriptions to increase CTR and discoverability.
  • Implement best practices for video release schedules, playlists, and audience retention.
  • Monitor performance via YouTube Analytics and adjust strategy based on audience insights and algorithm trends.
  • Stay current on YouTube content trends, creator strategies, and monetization tactics.

Cross-Platform Social Media Management

  • Plan and execute content for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, and other relevant platforms.
  • Design and publish branded digital assets (static, motion graphics, and video) to promote video content and network updates.
  • Lead paid media campaigns on social platforms, with a focus on YouTube Ads and audience targeting.
  • Engage directly with followers and communities across platforms—respond to comments, DMs, and mentions.
  • Maintain and manage a robust content calendar to ensure consistency across shows and social touchpoints.

     

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3–5 years of experience in social media management and digital content marketing, with a specific track record of growing and managing YouTube channels.
  • Proficiency with YouTube Studio, YouTube Analytics, and SEO optimization for YouTube.
  • Video editing experience using tools like Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, CapCut, Descript, or similar.
  • Strong skills in content design (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Photoshop, etc.).
  • Experience with YouTube Ads, Google Ads Manager, and audience segmentation strategies.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to report on content performance and channel growth.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, self-directed work style.
  • Passion for podcasting, online storytelling, and content communities.
  • Familiarity and understanding of the DFW sports landscape.
  • Experience launching or managing podcast YouTube channels (preferred).
  • Understanding of podcast distribution platforms and RSS-fed video tools.
  • Background in creator marketing, audience development, or media startups (nice to have).
  • Ability to create high quality digital art is considered a tremendous asset.
