Job Summary: The Learning and Development (L&D) department at Howard University is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented student to join our team as a Learning and Development Assistant. This work-study position will support the department in enhancing our training programs by finding supplemental learning activities, managing resources, and assisting with the creation of training materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplemental Learning Activities: Research and identify supplemental learning activities, such as articles, videos, and exercises, for each topic covered in the Individual Contributors Training program to enhance participant engagement and understanding.
Inventory Management: Create and maintain an inventory of all purchased equipment and materials for the department, ensuring accurate records and availability of resources for training sessions.
Post-Training Assessments: Distribute and manage post-training assessments and surveys to gather feedback from participants, aiding in the continuous improvement of our training programs.
Workbook Creation: Assist in the creation of workbooks and other training materials for sessions, ensuring content is organized, accessible, and aligns with the learning objectives.
Additional Responsibilities: Support the Learning and Development team with any other tasks or projects as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the department’s initiatives.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled as a student at Howard University and eligible for the work-study program.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable learning new software.
Ability to conduct online research and synthesize information into practical resources.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage time effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.
Hours:
10-15 hours per week, with flexibility around class schedules.
