Software Engineer Intern, AI Agent Platform (40hour)
Are you a builder passionate about creating the foundational infrastructure for next-generation AI? Do you want to write the code that brings intelligent, human-like agents to life? If so, we're looking for an ambitious intern to join us as a core member of the Apex Agent Labs team.
This is a paid 3-6 month internship with the strong possibility of converting to a full-time role upon successful completion. We are seeking candidates excited about growing with us long-term.
Our Mission: Closing the 'Experience Gap'
AI coding agents are delivering a 10x boost to development speed, but this acceleration has created a dangerous side effect: the 'Experience Gap.' As features are built faster than ever, the connection to the end-user is lost, leading to products that are functionally correct but experientially flawed.
As a well-funded startup, Apex Agent Labs was founded to close this gap. We are building an AI Teammate that embeds the authentic voice of the user into every stage of the product development lifecycle. By simulating how real users think, behave, and interact with a product, and orchestrating these within a multi-agent system, we provide a continuous validation loop from concept to launch.
What You'll Do
- Build Foundational Infrastructure: Develop and own core backend systems, APIs, and developer-facing tools that power our AI agent platform.
- Contribute End-to-End: Take full ownership of projects from design and implementation to testing and deployment, contributing high-quality, production-ready code.
- Enhance Platform Observability: Implement robust, privacy-aware monitoring, logging, and analytics to ensure system performance and provide key insights into agent behavior.
- Explore and Prototype New Capabilities: Research and build new agent "tools," including programmatic interactions with various software and native desktop applications.
- Collaborate with the Founding Team: Work directly with our founders in design discussions, code reviews, and our CI/CD process to build the future of our product.
Who You Are
- MUST - Personal or academic projects using LLMs or other AI agent patterns.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Strong programming fundamentals in a modern backend language (Python, Go, or Node.js) or a frontend framework (React, Vue, or Svelte).
- Experience with modern web technologies and API design principles.
- Comfortable with developer tools like Git and Docker, and have experience writing unit/integration tests.
- A strong problem-solver with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Bonus Points For
- Familiarity with browser or computer automation tools.
- A keen interest in building new developer tools and automation workflows.
- Basic understanding of observability concepts (logs, metrics, tracing) and SQL databases.
