Teachers/Lab Assistants
Little Beakers is a hands-on science lab for kids. We hiring part time Teachers/Lab Assistants to engage young scientists who visit our lab, making sure that they learn, stay safe and have fun!
*Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
- Confidence when working with children ages 3 to 16 years old
- Interest and/or experience in STEM related fields
- A commitment to providing great customer service
- The willingness and ability to maintain lab cleanliness and safety standards
- Effective multi-tasking and prioritization of tasks
- Clear communication skills (written and verbal)
- Personal integrity and respect for others
* Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Leading groups of children with varied ages and abilities through lessons/events/activities
- Providing support to visitors in Open Lab.
- Completing daily opening/closing tasks
- Maintaining lab organization, cleanliness and safety standards
- Greeting and checking in visitor to the lab
- Following established procedures for inventory management and organization
- Using POS system to complete customer transactions, etc.
- Reviewing and becoming familiar with the equipment and materials for offered experiments
*Minimum job requirements:
- Experience working with children ages 3-16
- Education and/or work experience in a STEM related field
- Flexible availability, including; days, occasional evenings, weekends (minimum of one weekend shift is required), and holidays
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Pass basic background check
