Accountant Intern – Job Description
Position Overview
The Accountant Intern will support Campus NIL’s Finance and Outreach teams by ensuring accurate financial tracking, reporting, and analysis related to corporate partnerships and student engagement initiatives. This intern will assist in preparing financial documents, budgets, and cost-benefit analyses that strengthen partnership outreach efforts. Additionally, the Accountant Intern will collaborate with the Major Company Outreach and Presentation Intern to provide financial data, revenue projections, and budget summaries that are integrated into high-level corporate presentations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis & Reporting
Assist in creating financial statements, expense reports, and budget summaries for internal and external use.
Support the preparation of cost–benefit analyses and ROI projections for potential corporate partnerships.
Maintain accurate records of expenditures, revenues, and sponsorship-related transactions.
Partnership & Presentation Support
Collaborate with the Outreach and Presentation Intern to prepare financial data for inclusion in pitches and presentations.
Create clear financial visuals (charts, graphs, summaries) to support corporate presentations.
Ensure financial assumptions in presentations are data-driven and accurate.
General Accounting Support
Assist with day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including tracking invoices and partner reimbursements.
Perform reconciliations of partnership-related accounts under the guidance of the Finance Manager or Senior Accountant.
Support compliance with organizational accounting procedures and audits.
Research & Financial Forecasting
Analyze financial trends in industries that serve college students (technology, telecom, entertainment, retail, food, e-commerce).
Provide financial input to refine partnership strategies and revenue goals.
Benchmark sponsorship rates and financial models used by competitors.
Qualifications
Junior, senior, or master’s degree candidate pursuing Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Strong proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets; experience with accounting or ERP systems is a plus.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis methods.
Analytical mindset with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication skills for presenting financial concepts clearly.
