Marine Biology Field Scientist Job/Position Description:
Pinnacle’s Marine Biology Field Scientists may participate in marine, estuarine, and coastal environmental studies at various domestic and international locations. The positions require participation in a variety of field studies, utilizing different data collection techniques, data analysis and preparation of regulatory documents and permit applications, plus writing and producing environmental and technical reports. Preferred qualifications include 1) graduate degree in marine biology, biological oceanography, or related field; 2) demonstrated experience related to the scientific study of marine environmental ecosystems with an emphasis on hard bottom communities, coral reef ecology, marine mammals, sea turtles, and seagrass communities; 3) advanced analytical and writing skills; 4) excellent research, analytical, interpersonal, communication, and time management skills; 5) certified and experienced scuba diver that is able to supply their own equipment; and 6) comfortable working on a boat, experience driving a marine vessel is preferred but not required. Additional responsibilities will include cleaning dive gear, boats, the office, and other relative scientific sampling equipment.
