Aspen Grille in the LSC is looking for someone to help with food preparation- prep, recipe execution, meal service & clean up. Must have a passion for cooking, the ability to work under pressure and a positive disposition. While restaurant experience is preferred, the ideal candidate would be a person who wants to be a part of a team, learn the ways of the Aspen Grille and be available from 9am till 2pm. Other hours may be available. Work study award is required for this job; we look forward to hearing from you!!! What do Aspen Grille Cooks do?

  • Promptly and accurately prepare, plate, and garnish menu items ordered by guests in our dining room; read order tickets, and manage multiple orders concurrently
  • Learn & practice safe food handling and maintain a sanitary work environment. Help monitor and document times and temperatures
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate menu orders with team members to ensure timely and complete delivery of food orders
  • Prepare and stock ingredients for next service
  • Help clean up and organize kitchens during and after service: may include washing dishes, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing

The preferred candidate will:

• Have consistent availability   between 9am and 2:00pm 

• Be able to show up ready to work and proactively seek tasks and learning opportunities 

• Have ability to take direction from and offer suggestions to leadership-we like your input!

• Be reliable for own shifts, and communicate regarding scheduling needs

• Have positive work ethic, and enthusiasm for food and beverage service

• Have ability to shift priorities throughout shifts, and work within a cohesive team

 

 

Details:

• Must be a current CSU student

• Student Employees staring pay rate is $15.50 per hour+ credit card tip share

• Colorado State University may conduct background checks on final candidates.
