POSITION SUMMARY:
At Ma Bahuchar Hospitality’s Garner by IHG Hotel, the sales manager is responsible for creating and developing revenue growth within the hotel. As the Sales Manager, your responsibility is to drive revenue by promoting and selling the hotel through the creation of sales strategies and goals. This includes building relationships with clients, negotiating contracts and rates, and collaborating with other departments to achieve revenue targets.The sales manager will manage and analyze sales data and monitor industry trends and competitor activity, adjusting the sales strategy accordingly. Additionally, the sales manager will follow up on leads submitted by other team members and respond to client inquiries and address their needs to ensure a positive experience.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Responsible for driving revenue by developing and implementing sales strategies to attract and retain business in group and transient segments.
- Identify and pursue new market segments and opportunities to include, leisure, corporate, group, and events.
- Utilize Key Performance Indicators to measure the efficiency of the sales processes and the effectiveness of customer acquisition efforts. Regularly present this information to the General Manager and other department heads.
- Work with front desk and management team to obtain sales inquiry information from prospects and follow up. Quote and close business as approved by the General Manager.
- Prepare and maintain records of all customer contacts and sales agreements while protecting the privacy of the contact and maintaining integrity of the business.
- Maintain accounts using the CRM and PMS system.
- Ensure proper billing, pricing, and payment information is utilized for all groups and negotiated accounts.
- Administer and finalize post-stay billing, prepare invoices and folios.
- Actively promote the hotel through various channels, including social media, email marketing, networking events, and trade shows.
- Ensures room blocks are updated regularly and special guest or group itinerary is communicated with both housekeeping and front desk teams.
- Provide support to the front desk as needed. Coordinate guest requests and changes.
- Monitor hotel inventory and make preparations for busy days.
- Arrange meetings and site inspections, be present as the on-site contact for all groups checking in.
- Maintain availability by phone when key accounts are present for any issues that may arise during the stay.
- Other duties as assigned, including covering front desk shifts and operating as the manager on duty when needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- College degree or equivalent experience in Hospitality, Business, or Marketing preferred.
- 2+ years of hospitality industry experience with administrative responsibilities required.
- Sales experience involving contract booking procedures, corporate account management, and business development with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Proficiency in hotel CRM and sales systems and familiarity with local market and industry trends.
- Knowledge of hotel booking platforms, revenue management strategies, and sales analytics.
- Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned region and to attend off-site events and meetings as needed, a valid driver’s license is required.
- Proficient in IHG Concerto and IHG RFP, and skilled in the use of other hospitality suites available for streamlining and maximizing sales in the industry.
- Ability to understand and interpret key performance indicators and use them as benchmarks to improve performance and profitability within the hotel.
