Bilingual Recruitment & Intake Specialist

The Recruitment & Intake Specialist is responsible for recruitment efforts to advertise, attract and engage clients to El Barrio services. Provides initial job seeker engagement through intake and eligibility for job seekers interested in workforce services. 

 

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, advanced education or vocational training is a plus.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant exposure to or experience with clients experiencing challenges in finding employment. Experience in a related field such as workforce development or social services is preferred.
  • Proficient in using electronic platforms (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite, internet research, database management, and virtual learning platforms).
  • Requires travel to other facilities and meetings as needed. Reliable transportation is required, a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle strongly preferred.
  • Availability to work outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends to accommodate program requirements and client needs, as well as participation on trainings and meetings.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish both oral and written is required.

 

Program Specific Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience working with young adults, 18-24, looking for employment, continuing education or career readiness
  • Demonstrated experience working with young adults, 14-24, in shelters, residential facilities, foster care, or juvenile justice impacted, preferred

 

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists with identifying and implementing appropriate promotional and recruitment plans that effectively increase job seeker enrollment, in particular but not exclusive to specific target populations. Partners with The Centers’ Marketing team develop necessary materials that aligns with organizational branding and messaging standards.
  • Maintains visibility within the community and with internal programs promoting El Barrio’s program through events, meetings, and recruitment initiatives. Develops and maintains relationships with all potential client recruitment streams.
  • Screen, interview, complete intake process and verify applicants’ eligibility requirements for the corresponding program.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with El Barrio programs, career profile and eligibility requirements to participate in recruitment fairs and present information sessions outlining opportunities, working conditions, training, and related workforce development topics that will attract and enroll potential job seekers into the program.
  • Assist clients for a smooth transition into programs, connecting them with a dedicated care team.
  • Maintains relationship with contract partners to support and monitor referrals.
  • Collect, update and maintain data relevant to recruiting and intake.  Provides data entry support across the Workforce program.
  • Responsible for accurate reporting in various internal and external CRM systems
  • Apply evaluations, tests or any general assessment to program applicants, as applicable.
  • Calls and letters to potential job seekers for pre-engagement activities immediately upon a referral to ensure participants receive detailed expectations in order to process their enrollment timely.
  • Actively working towards accomplishing and meeting program goals as outlined within contracts, while keeping the job seeker at the front of mind.
  • Assists with Workforce projects
  • Other duties as assigned
