Peer Academic Success & Support (PASS) Program Tutor
Seeking CVM DVM Students to serve as tutors in one or more of the following subjects;
◦ Anatomy
◦ Physiology
◦ Histology
◦ Pharmacology
◦ Pathology
◦ Clinical Skills
◦ Professional Skills (e.g., communication, case-based reasoning)
Tutoring Formats based on need and participant preferences:
◦ 1-on-1 Tutoring: Students may request 1-5 hours of individualized help through an online request form.
◦ Group Sessions: Weekly or bi-weekly sessions for high-demand courses. Focused on concept review, exam prep, and study strategies.
◦ Online Support: Asynchronous support via Discord or Canvas discussion board moderated by tutors.
Complete an online Peer Tutor Orientation and Training Workshop at the start of the semester.
Applicants must be current enrolled students in the doctor of veterinary medicine degree program:
• Open to CVM students in Years 2–4.
• Must be in good academic and professional standing.
• Must have received a B+ or higher in the course(s) they wish to tutor (87% for WIMU Students).
Time management skills.
Willingness to tutor during non-traditional work hours as needed and available.
Variable work hours, times, and conditions. The predominate work environment will be in a location that minimized distractions: study space or conference room. Mental demands in line with content provided in the doctor of veterinary medical program.
On-Campus ACA Variable Hours US Work Authorization is required
