SEC and Regulatory Reporting Intern

Hilltop Holdings Inc. is currently looking for a qualified student to join our Finance and Accounting teams as a SEC and Regulatory Reporting Intern. This individual will work closely with our Finance and Accounting team to gain hands-on experience in the profession while assisting with several key initiatives across the company. They will gain exposure to the basic SEC and Regulatory Reporting functions and will develop entry level experience in the financial services industry. The intern will further develop skills and utilize technology to facilitate and improve existing and/or new processes associated with industry-leading, financial cloud application technology, including Oracle, FCCS Reporting, FedReporter, Toppan-Merrill Reporting.

Dates: Internship Dates: May 27th - July 31st, 2026

Location: 325 North Saint Paul Street, Dallas, Texas 75201

Responsibilities 

  • Learn about the various Finance and Accounting functions under the direction of the Director of SEC and Regulatory Reporting
  • Prepare supporting documentation used for SEC Reporting and Regulatory reporting to the Federal Reserve Bank
  • Assist with preparing financial statements used in financial reporting
  • Assist in completion of financial reporting internal controls, such as reconciliation of disclosures to general ledger and prior year financial reports
  • Contract review and impact analysis to reporting disclosures
  • Monitoring and analysis of impact of new accounting standards
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications 

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Rising Senior or Graduate student pursuing a finance/accounting degree preferred
  • Some experience (0 – 1 year) is preferred but not required
  • Computer hardware, operating system (Windows or Mac), and software/application (MS Office, Internet Access through MS Edge or Google Chrome, Outlook etc.) skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
  • Proven self-starter who can initiate tasks and follow up to completion
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Exceptional analytical skills; above-average attention to detail
  • Desire to learn about career opportunities in the Finance/Accounting areas and/or financial services industry
  • Candidate MUST have authorization to work for any employer in the US without requiring sponsorship, whether in student status or not
