Data Center Infrastructure Management Intern

QTS' summer internship program will provide you first hand experience into the fast paced world of the data center industry by providing weekly lunch and learns, a comprehensive orientation program, and site based activities, socials and volunteering events. Every intern will be assigned initiatives tied to real QTS objectives helping with anything pertaining to the whole life-cycle of a data center build and/or company operations.

 

The Data Center Infrastructure Management Intern  will gain hands-on experience assisting with the design, innovation and ongoing management of information technology (IT), operational technology (OT) and the AI & analytics supporting critical infrastructure.

The Technology Intern will interact on a daily basis with Facilities, IT & DCIM Engineers, Vendors, and Data Center Operations staff.  The intern should have both written and oral communication skills commensurate with this level of regular communication.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned.

  • Troubleshoot systems and provide analysis and feedback to coworkers
  • Draft up solutions based off of project findings and data pulls and work with SME on refining and delivering the solution
  • Work within a Linux environment setting up VMWares and building out other aspects of IT infrastructure

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in STEM or Data Science field
  • Previous course or project work around Linux systems, basic IT infrastructure components and VMware
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, specifically PowerPoint for use in communicating program updates to executive level, and MS Excel to create and maintain site program & individual project budgets
  • Must be a US Citizen

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous internship/co-op experience within technology industry
  • Experience with programing languages like: Python, Java, etc.
  • Experience or exposure in mission critical data center facilities
