Job Summary: Lead pastor of our youth program: This position entails leading weekly lessons and the discipleship / mentoring of youth in grades 6-12. We also like for the youth to be involved in an activity or outing once per month i.e. community project, game night, movie, volunteer project, fun outings, etc. The preferred candidate will have spiritual maturity, excellent references, relevant experience, and/or a degree in ministry. At Harvest, we have a hunger for the Word of God and teaching and discipleship are paramount responsibilities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach & Disciple: Prepare and lead an engaging Sunday School lesson and a Wednesday evening Bible study every week. We want our youth to be receiving the MEAT of God’s word and growing in depth and devotion.
  • Nurture and invest in the current youth attending Harvest, and new students who come to visit. This means being available at church activities and services for youth and their families, making phone calls or visiting youth and being an outgoing and visible staff member.
  • Oversee and manage a monthly youth outing: to develop community and provide opportunity for the students to engage in both fun and service activities.
  • Administration: Work with parents, church staff and the leadership to implement the church mission and vision: to foster a love of God’s word and to share Jesus with the local community around Avilla, and abroad to the world.
  • Initiative: Be motivated and passionate! What an opportunity to feed into the lives of young people in such a formative way!

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or relevant experience in youth ministry. If you are called to youth ministry and don’t have a degree, don’t let that stop you from applying!
  • A genuine call from the Lord to serve as the mentor for young people to grow in their walk with Christ.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Innovative and Self-motivated
