TRC is seeking highly motivated and diverse Advanced Energy Interns for our Summer 2026 intern program out of our New Brunswick Office. This is a paid full-time position. Anticipated duration will be from June through August 2026 (flexible). This position has the potential to transition into a Full-Time role upon graduation. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Project Managers and Team Leaders and partner with engineers, scientists, and technologists. 

 

Our Advanced Energy Interns: 

Support various project tasks including regulatory requirements/review estimates, research, procurement support, etc. 

Perform data entry, data management, data evaluation, and data present 

Support the preparation of reports, plans and specifications for client  

Support market research, audits, quality controls, etc 

Support for feasibility studies and designs for energy storage and microgrids if needed 

May work on field assignments such as attending local meetings, tradeshows, and client meetings as needed  

Will be supported by leaders, mentors and teammates 

Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary 

Minimum Requirements 

Must be at least 21 years old 

Pursuing Bachelor or Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, Energy, Sustainability or related field 

Minimum GPA of 3.0 

Has excellent verbal and written communication skills 

Possesses solid technical and problem-solving skills 

Self-motivated, detail orientated person  

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)  

Honest, fun, hard-working and ready to learn and grow 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

Experience with engineering software applications (AutoCad, MathCad, ESRI, HydroCad, WaterCad, ARCView GIS, etc.) is preferred but not required 

Applicants for this intern role must possess a clean driving record.  

 

In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $18 to $26/hr. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
