THE OPPORTUNITY
Location: Larkspur, CA. We are flexible with in-person and remote arrangements; for remote team members, we ask for 1–2 in-person meetings per month, with a preference for more in-person time at the start to support training and onboarding.
Duration: 3 months with a possible extension to 6 months
Commitment: 15-20 hours per week
Compensation: $20/hour
We are seeking a Computer Science Intern with a strong interest in AI to help us evaluate, design, and prototype AI-driven solutions for our firm. This is a hands-on, strategic role where you will immerse yourself in our business, identify opportunities for AI integration, and present actionable recommendations to leadership. We are exploring the cutting edge of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance our capabilities—unlocking new ways to analyze data, identify trends, and improve how we connect biotech innovators with investors.
You will gain experience at the intersection of AI, finance, healthcare, and biotechnology, with the freedom to explore innovative approaches that could reshape how our industry operates. We believe this role could provide a unique experience for a student who’s interested in AI for healthcare innovation, and entrepreneurship—offering the chance to directly shape how emerging technologies are adopted in a real-world business environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Learn our business model, client base, and workflow in healthcare investor relations
- Research and evaluate AI tools, platforms, and methodologies relevant to investor relations, biotech data analysis, and market intelligence
- Identify opportunities for AI to:
- Help develop a prompt library and templates for each adopted platform
- Support the development of a basic AI policy aligned to client and employee needs
- Automate data gathering and competitive analysis
- Improve investor targeting and outreach strategies
- Generate and optimize content for reports, presentations, and communications
- Streamline internal workflows and reporting
- Develop proof-of-concept prototypes or process recommendations for leadership review
- Present findings and AI integration roadmap to the executive team
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Current student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or related field
- Strong understanding of AI concepts, natural language processing (NLP), and/or machine learning frameworks
- Proficiency in Python or similar programming language
- Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
- Familiarity with healthcare, biotech, or financial markets
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Plotly)
- Knowledge of LLMs, generative AI, and prompt engineering
