Objective:

Contribute to the welcoming and respectful environment of the CWG. Staff members are expected to maintain an atmosphere where individuals feel comfortable and welcomed by the actions and attitudes of the staff. Demonstrated teamwork and program development with Be Well (Wellness Outreach and Education).

 

Job Description:

  • General upkeep of the CWG space
  • Welcome visitors to the CWG and provide necessary information
  • Plan, organize, and carryout programming and social outreach for Be Well events related to women and gender equity issues
  • Create and distribute fliers and emails to advertise programming, resources, and events
  • Update and maintain bulletin boards outside the CWG and on the 1st floor of Alliot
  • Research and work with the Be Well Coordinator and campus partners to develop programming that reaches a diverse range of students. Programs may include topics that address gender-based violence on campus, community-building programs for SMC’s LGBTQIA+ population and general wellness.
  • Co-facilitate small group workshops
  • Attend meetings and trainings with other Be Well Ambassadors
  • Commitment of 5 hours per week (some availability on Wednesday evenings)
  • Contribute to Be Well social media presence
  • Students will be paired in teams to plan and implement wellness activities and programs related to healthy relationships, bystander intervention, and topics related to gender and gender equity.

 

Qualifications:

  • Current SMC student
  • Basic understanding of women and gender equity issues and a willingness to expand upon this understanding
  • Interested in wellness promotion
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to follow through with tasks
  • Familiar with Canva
