ICT Fifth Grade Teacher
The Hyde Park Central School District is seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teacher to join one of our elementary schools at the fifth grade level. The ideal candidate will be student-centered, committed to inclusive education, and experienced in co-teaching and differentiated instruction.

Tentative Assignment: Violet Avenue Elementary School
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specially designed instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and NYSED regulations.
Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices and co-teaching models.
Implement accommodations, modifications, and behavior support plans as outlined in students’ IEPs.
Use data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
Communicate regularly with families, related service providers, and other members of the CSE team.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation including IEP development, progress reports, and classroom records.
Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-based initiatives.
Promote a positive and respectful learning environment that supports the social-emotional and academic development of all students.
Qualifications:
Required:
Valid New York State Certification in Students with Disabilities (Grades 1-6 or All Grades), or Special Education certification
Knowledge of and experience with IEP development and implementation.
Experience in inclusive classrooms, co-teaching, and differentiated instruction.
Preferred:
Experience working with diverse learners in a secondary school setting.
Familiarity with restorative practices, culturally responsive pedagogy, and evidence-based instructional strategies.
