What You’ll Do

Early Responsibilities:

  • Design mechanical systems and equipment in SolidWorks/Inventor.
  • Apply machining tolerances, weldment design, and design for manufacturability.
  • Produce 2D/3D shop drawings and collaborate with fabrication teams.
  • Support assembly, testing, and field commissioning.
  • Update designs to “as-built” state and create customer manuals.
  • Monitor budgets, schedules, and project deliverables.

What You’ll Grow Into:

  • Lead complex automation and construction projects.
  • Interface directly with customers and present technical solutions.
  • Take ownership of full project lifecycles from design through commissioning.
  • Mentor future entry-level engineers as you advance into senior roles.

 

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
  • Integrity and strong work ethic.
  • Self-starter mindset with motivation to gain real-world experience.
  • Proven leadership ability, inside and outside the classroom.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work on a team.
  • A drive to learn continuously and grow through hands-on challenges.

Preferred (not required):

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (Inventor or other 3D CAD tools considered).
  • Knowledge of fits/tolerances, weldments, and design for manufacturability.
  • Simulation or FEA experience a plus
