Campus Compact EnviroCorps (AmeriCorps Minimum-time)
Campus Compact EnviroCorps (CCEC) is the first nationwide AmeriCorps program dedicated to strengthening campus-based, community-led environmental stewardship efforts. EnviroCorps works with colleges, universities, and their community partners to weatherize homes, organize nature conservation projects, and lead environmental education events in local communities. Combined, these activities help increase home energy efficiency, cost savings, and comfort; support access to clean air, land, and water; and increase knowledge and motivation to make a positive difference for the planet. EnviroCorps is an AmeriCorps program managed by Campus Compact, a national coalition of colleges and universities dedicated to civic and community engagement. EnviroCorps places teams of 3-10 AmeriCorps members in full- and part-time service terms with our campus and community partners throughout the United States. Campus Compact functions as the central EnviroCorps program hub, performing program administration, offering training, and providing support to EnviroCorps members and their projects.
The EnviroCorps program at Miami Dade College Kendall will collaborate with the Earth Ethics Institute and Citizens for a Better South Florida to restore pine rocklands, plant native trees, and educate Miami-Dade communities about local ecosystems, biodiversity, & conservation.
