POSITION:                 Science Teacher/Academic Integration Specialist – Anticipated (FT - 10 Month)

 SITE/BUILDING:       Various locations throughout Suffolk County

ASSIGNMENT:          Department of Career, Technical and Adult Education

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         NYS Science 7-12 Certification (Earth Science, Biology, Physics or Chemistry)

·         Dual or multiple certification preferred (in other content areas and/or SWD, ESOL, or Bilingual)

·         Minimum 3-years of teaching experience

·         Deep knowledge of content area standards and skills applications

·         Experience in instructional coaching role and/or delivering professional development

·         Demonstrate commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         The primary function of this position is to support the delivery of high-quality science instruction within secondary career and technical education programs that offer students the ability to earn science credit.  This support is provided via collaboration with CTE instructors, including co-teaching, collaborative planning and instructional coaching.

·         The successful candidate will also support CTE programs by periodically delivering in-service professional development to fellow instructors and reviewing and updating the science standards indicated in curriculum maps, and developing related supporting science integration charts.

START DATE:                                   As soon as possible

MINIMUM STARTING SALARY:      $61,469.00
