Finance Accounting Internship
Mission
The A-C Electric Company Internship Experience Program offers a hands-on, project-based learning opportunity for students eager to apply their accounting and financial knowledge in a dynamic electrical construction environment.
Over the course of this 10-week internship, you will work alongside experienced accountants, financial analysts, and project managers to gain exposure to payroll processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close, and financial analytics. This is an excellent opportunity to see how accounting and finance directly impact large-scale construction projects and company performance.
About You:

Desired Majors: Accounting, Finance, Business Administration (with an accounting or finance concentration), Economics, or Business with a quantitative focus
Key Responsibilities:
Over the course of our 10-week internship experience you will have the opportunity to:
- Assist in processing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate coding and timely payment
- Support payroll processing for field and office personnel, including certified payroll for government contracts
- Help prepare project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking reports
- Reconcile vendor statements and assist in resolving discrepancies
- Participate in month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare financial and operational reports for project teams and senior leadership
- Learn and utilize accounting systems such as Spectrum and project management tools like Procore
- Participate in Book Club assignments to build leadership and communication skills
- Contribute to a LEAN project related to financial processes or reporting improvements, culminating in a presentation to company leaders
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
- Ability to work full-time for 10 weeks during Summer 2026
- Enrolled student attending a college or university with an expected graduation on or before August 2027
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- We’re looking for students who have shown solid academic performance — at least a 3.0 GPA in upper-division courses for your major, or a 2.75 GPA overall.
- Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills as demonstrated through leadership positions on teams and/or in student or civic organizations.
- Strong technical experiences as demonstrated through technical projects, research, or engineering internships.
- Exceptional communication skills, interest, and enthusiasm related to electrical engineering and/or construction.
Relocation:
- Must be able to relocate to Bakersfield, CA for the entirety of the internship.

Pay range: Pay Range: $16.00/hr. - $22.00/hr. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
