Neurophysiologic Monitoring Specialist

Perform neurophysiologic monitoring in the operating room to assist in assessing the funcitonal integrity of the peripheral and central nervous system during vascular, orthopedic and neurosurgical operative procedures.  Monitor the intraoperative recording to make recommendations to the surgeon and conduct the appropriate electrophysiological testing.  Advise the anesthesiologist on anesthesia impacts to neurophysiologic monitoring.  Postoperatively, submit final intraoperative report to the attending surgeon and the company's medical office.  Conduct the following core intraoperative monitoring procedures:  motor cranial nerve assessment using evoked and passive electromyography ("EMG") techniques; assessment of spinal cord sensory and motor function using somatosensory evoked potentials ("SSEP") and transcranial motor evoked potentials; motor strip mapping of cortical surface using electrical stimulation and EMG techniques; assessment of spinal cord root function using EMG techniques; assessment of electroencephalographic ("EEG") burst suppression activity with sensory evoked potentials measure to provide cerebral protection via titration of anesthetic agents; neuromonitoring of spinal root and cord fuction for proper pedicle screw placement in spinal fusion and instrumentation surgeries; and transcranial electrical stimulation of motor cortex for monitoring spinal cord motor function in orthopedic and neurosurgical cases.  MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  B.S. Degree and CNIM (Certification in Neurophysiological Intraoperative Monitoring) + 2 years experience in the job offered and CNIM credential.
