Citizen Outreach and Field Manager
Work to tackle the growing e-waste problem in our citizen outreach and field manager positions. We throw out over 400,000 cell phones each day. We could eliminate a lot of this waste if companies just made it easier to fix the stuff we already own. Instead, companies restrict access to parts and tools, forcing consumers to replace rather than repair their electronic devices.
That’s why in our Washington D.C. office, we’re working to pass a bill that would keep our devices in use and out of landfills by giving us what we need to fix our stuff.
As a canvasser you will:
- Educate and engage citizens on a campaign to make real change on pressing environmental and public interest issues
- Develop essential communication and political advocacy skills
- Build membership and raise money for nonprofit groups in your community
- Earn leadership opportunities, supervising and managing staff in the field
- Gain the experience and connections needed to launch your career in nonprofit and policy work
At Fund for the Public Interest, we are seeking hard-working individuals with good communication skills and a passion for social change to fill citizen outreach and field manager positions. We are hiring full-time and part-time staff and have leadership opportunities available.
