Summer 2026 Internship – Auto Finance (Lawrenceville, GA)

As part of our Internship Program, you will have an opportunity to:

The Details

  • Internship Program Timing: May 26 – August 7, 2026
  • 40 hours each week with a mix of in-office and remote working days
  • Project-based work
  • Market competitive hourly compensation and a sign-on bonus, as well as financial housing assistance for those who qualify
  • Successful interns will have the opportunity to return to Ally in an Early Talent Program or full-time role, or to a second internship, depending upon graduation timing.

 

The Work Itself

Areas of Opportunity:

· Commercial Underwriting - responsible for completing the financial analysis and related due diligence for extensions of inventory credit lines and other commercial loans (real estate, working capital, lines of credit) to current and prospective automotive dealership customers.

· Consumer Underwriting - this group evaluates, negotiates, and decisions consumer offerings within Ally's underwriting policies to further grow application and contract volume. They build and maintain a portfolio of dealers and provide best-in-class relationship management for their assigned territories.

· Credit Administration - This group is responsible for providing support directly and indirectly to our dealer customers that include performing daily tasks that support and accurately maintain our dealers wholesale accounts. This includes the onboarding of new retail relationships with automotive dealerships, oversight of collateral audits, funding and payoff of floorplan units, accounting and payment processing of all payments to/from automotive dealerships in the Ally commercial portfolio, and preparation and maintenance of collateral and security documentation. 

· Portfolio Management/Dealer Management - facilitate the delivery and management of products and services to automotive dealers, including lines of credit for vehicle inventory, equipment, working capital and real estate loans, and commercial insurance products, to assist in dealership operations.  Roles and responsibilities include credit underwriting, new business development, loan closing, payment processing and account management.

· Sales Analytics - Analyze data and trends among a variety of sales functions within the Auto Finance Regional Business Center.  Be able to provide to senior leadership industry insights, program updates, and custom reports when necessary.  Support sales teams with proofs, identify opportunities, and mitigate risks through data analysis.

 

The Skills You Bring

Required qualifications.

  • Rising Junior or Senior (during the time of internship) in a full-time undergraduate program.
  • Major/Course of Study: Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates Analytical Thinking, Collaboration, Learning Agility.
  • Available for the full duration of the internship program.
  • Eligible to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship from the company now or in the future.
